‘My Aunt Bee’ Official Opening

Play – My Aunt Bee (Official Opening)

Gaelach Gorm Theatre in Kill Community Centre is the perfect setting to launch this year’s festival on Thursday, July 11, at 8pm. Join us and the very entertaining Seamus O’Rourke along with Bairbre Ni Chaoimh of Bosco fame. Seamus O’Rourke’s vast experience of nephew-ism captures the mad, chaotic world of a wonderfully flawed Aunt Bee, who simply doesn’t give a sh**… Or does she? Laura Dowdall, co-founder of The Viking, directs.  Curtain up at 8pm. Admission is €15, Concessions €12 via Eventbrite

Brake for the Border

Leaving the beautiful surroundings of Glencomeragh the cycle will follow the route of the Sean Kelly legacy cycle route until it breaks for the County border at Kilsheelan and connects with the recently opened Suir Blueway. From here the cycle is a leisurely 12 km on the former towpath between Kilsheelan and Carrick on Suir with lovely views of County Waterford and a rich offering of castles, tower houses and ruined churches. Crossing the Suir again at Carrickbeg the cycle again picks up the Sean Kelly legacy route through rolling countryside, finishing back again at Glencomeragh. The trip is 25km in total at a leisurely pace and with so much to see and hear about will take 2 to 2.5 hours.
